Verizon revealed earlier on Monday when it will be taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S III, but remained mum on an exact release date. While Big Red’s press release also detailed the Galaxy S III’s on-contract pricing, there was no details on how much one of these bad boys will cost without a contract. However, it appears that this question has been answered. Droid-Life’s sources have shared details that place the 16GB model Galaxy S III at a full price of $599 and the 32GB model at $649.
Sure these are a high price to pay to avoid a contract, but after Verizon’s recent announcement concerning unlimited data, some customers may be willing to bite the bullet. While Verizon has yet to detail exactly when its new shared data plans will be deployed, we don’t think it’s much of a coincidence that the carrier is holding off on announcing an official date for its version of the Galaxy S III.
